We’re excited to share the latest developments from our participation in the Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) cluster meeting organized by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), held in Brussels on September 23rd and 24th, 2024.
Representing Harmonise, Christos Korkas from the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) and Matteo Geralta from MAPS attended the event, which brought together 17 PED-related projects. During the two-day session, our team had the opportunity to present the Harmonise project and participate in valuable discussions on the critical challenges of interoperability within PEDs and the integration of community energy systems. The event fostered collaboration and knowledge sharing with other European projects, underscoring the importance of joint efforts in energy innovation.
The meeting provided a comprehensive view of the current landscape and future research needs for PEDs, with a particular focus on interoperability, sector coupling, and business models. Through these discussions, we gained insights from ongoing and finalized projects and explored potential innovative solutions for sustainable energy systems. The exchange of ideas highlighted the value of cross-project collaboration, particularly in addressing shared challenges related to energy transition and decarbonisation.
As Harmonise continues to evolve, our efforts will increasingly focus on deepening partnerships with key stakeholders across Europe and beyond.
