As HARMONISE enters its second year, the project is reaching an exciting stage where collaboration, outreach, and knowledge exchange are becoming increasingly important. While technological innovation remains at its core, its true value lies in connecting with the right people, initiatives, and stakeholders to ensure that the project’s outcomes create long-term benefits for Europe’s energy transition.

In this context, Energy Cluster Denmark plays a key role by leading Task 7.3 – HARMONISE’s Reach to Relevant Initiatives and Task 8.3 – HARMONISE’s Clustering and Collaboration with Relevant Activities. The objective is to ensure that HARMONISE is closely connected with leading European initiatives such as BRIDGE, ECTP, DUT, Built4People, AIOT, and Smart Data Models, creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and greater impact across the European innovation ecosystem.

A significant part of this work is supported by Center Denmark (CDK), acting as a subcontractor to Energy Cluster Denmark. As a Danish data platform and knowledge hub specialising in electricity, heating, and water data, CDK contributes valuable expertise in developing digital solutions that support the green transition, smarter energy systems, and more efficient management of energy resources. Their contribution strengthens the practical implementation of HARMONISE’s clustering and outreach activities.

One of the biggest challenges has been identifying the European initiatives and working groups that can provide the greatest added value to HARMONISE. The project has demonstrated that successful clustering is not simply about building networks—it is about creating meaningful collaborations based on common objectives, complementary expertise, and shared ambitions. Working closely with consortium partners and leveraging their extensive European networks has been essential in selecting collaborations that truly support the project’s goals.

Looking ahead, Energy Cluster Denmark will continue strengthening these collaborations by bringing together partners and initiatives in Denmark through dedicated clustering activities and a study tour showcasing Danish excellence in data platforms, big data management, smart energy systems, data intelligent services, cyber security, robust systems, and software architecture. At the same time, the team looks forward to creating stronger links with the PED area of Sønderborg and expanding cooperation with the BRIDGE Working Groups, particularly in areas such as consumer and citizen engagement, data management, data exchange architecture, and regulation.

Beyond the technical achievements, HARMONISE demonstrates how collaboration between research organisations, industry, public authorities, and local communities can accelerate innovation and make project results more practical, accessible, and impactful for real-world energy systems across Europe.
